As long as we are in this body, holiness, perfection, and righteousness is a continuous feat. Yet the joy of it all is that you don’t need to be perfect to have God’s love, He loved you even before you knew he existed and made you holy by faith in Christ.
Today, I’m looking at God’s promises. In this troubled and depraved world, my sustenance is the word of God. I live one day at a time in God’s word. It is sad that people live and die in penury simply because they couldn’t or wouldn’t grasp the amazing truth of God’s promises.
Not that I think that I’m smart and they aren’t, it’s by grace that I came into this truth. So, it’s about time we hold God to His word and I’m doing exactly that. I would instead do that and fail than wonder what could have been if I had summoned up courage to exercise faith and live in God promises for my life.
We must come to a point in our lives where we need to move from trusting God for His promises to start living in His promises.
God’s promises are His spoken word. They are like a set of written code which once keyed in and you press enter, it begins activation. But, if you keep looking at it hoping somehow, someway, someday it will happen I’m sorry to burst your bubbles, it won’t. That doesn’t mean it is not real. It is real but you need to key in and activate. If you are interested in knowing what the key is, its nothing new, it's FAITH.
There’s a doing part to God’s promises, it is acting in faith. There’s no other way to activating God’s promises except by faith and the good news is you don’t need a lot of it to activate God’s promises, all you need is a tiny bit, as little as a mustard seed. A mustard seed is a very small seed about 1 to 2 millimeters. It is the smallest of all seed but when it is grown it produces one of the biggest plants.
Isn’t it amazingly obvious, God is so compassionate? We only require so little to achieve tremendous and humongous results. When we learn to live in God’s promises, He makes immense power available to us. What can we possibly need?
“If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!

Except Jesus is lying, then this means you can do anything. And I can tell you this for free, all things are possible except these three things:
It’s impossible for God to lie - Hebrews 6:18; Numbers 23:19; 1 Samuel 15:29 (NLT)
His word cannot return to Him void - Isaiah 55:11(NLT)
It is impossible to please God without faith – Hebrews 11:6 (NLT)
Do you know we make God proud when we make a choice to live by faith? Look at Abraham, all he had to do was hope even though it seems like there’s nothing to hope for and look what he got, he got the whole world as his inheritance plus he got to be called the FRIEND of God. God had to confide in him about his plan to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah and he gets to advice GOD! AHHH what a privilege! The things we can achieve if we could only believe and live it. I don’t know about you but this is the ultimate it doesn’t get better than this to be a friend of the all-powerful, to advice the all-knowing and hangout with the ever-present God, that’s golden!
The moment you realize that pay cheque isn’t the one sustaining you, neither is the contract or the job promotion, then you have entered into His rest. Jeremiah 17; 7-8.
How does Faith Works?
1. Simple! Listen to the word of God. The more you listen the stronger it gets.
So, faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ. Romans 10:17 (NLT).
2. Don’t try to reason it out, faith and reasoning are incompatible. I personally, love to analyze and find logic in things but over the years, I found that if I have to do anything noteworthy, reason and logic have to go especially when it comes to God’s word.
For we live by believing and not by seeing. 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)

3. Live it a day at a time and stay in it.
Be Patient. Living in God’s promises and seeing them come to pass is not like MacDonald Drive-thru, where you give your order when driving in and get your order when driving out. There’s a waiting time and the doing part to it. Also, anything worth having is worth waiting for.
Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised. Hebrews 6:15 (NLT)
…You see, his faith and his actions worked together. His actions made his faith complete…. James 2:22-23 (NLT).
When you choose to believe God’s word and look to Him to perform them (Jeremiah 1:12); you get:
Peace
Joy
Hope
Healing
New lease of life
Rest
And ultimately, you get to see your expectations come to pass.
