Some recipes may not require that you cover the lasagna while it bakes. However, it is important with our recipe to cover it so the sauce can get hot and soften the pasta. Cover the pan with a single layer of aluminum foil and bake covered for all but 10 minutes of the baking time.
If there is one recipe that is near and dear to me when it comes to comfort food, it's some homemade lasagna. There is something about it that is just so comforting. I have tried several decent lasagna recipes over the years but this one is perfect. I made it with sausage the day before and followed the heating instructions exactly. Everyone loved it! This will be my new go-to for sure! Thanks for a great recipe!
I have made this lasagna at least once in the past. Last time I made it with turkey but I have a vegetarian now (2022) and I tried it with 1/2 beyond beef and 1/2 beyond beef sausage and it turned out great. I like the idea of trying it with just veggies and maybe using meaty mushrooms for my next attempt. ? I made an extra one to freeze.
In this Homemade Three Meat Bolognese Lasagna, a rich and flavorful, homemade bolognese sauce consisting of ground beef, pork and veal along with vegetables, herbs, wine and cream, slowly simmered over a couple of hours. This robust bolognese sauce is the backbone to this lasagna. Spoonfuls are layered between noodles, mozzarella cheese and a creamy mascarpone and ricotta mixture.
Lasagna is the ultimate comfort food. This spinach and beef lasagna recipe with delicious layers of meat, homemade bechamel sauce, spinach, and browned bubbling cheese on top. This beef and spinach lasagna recipe is perfect for feeding a family or bringing to a potluck!
Before putting your spinach and beef lasagna in the oven, I like to add a few tiny pieces of softened butter so that we get that golden brown top. Cover with foil, and into the oven! If your lasagna dish is full to the brim (which it should be), you can put foil on a baking sheet and then put the baking dish on top of that to guard from spills.
I am all about labor-of-love recipes. I love the process as much as the finished product. And seriously, this lasagna is all of that and so much more! Looks like a fun and super delicious weekend cooking project! Thanks for the inspiration, Dawn and hope you have a delightful weekend! ~Valentina
One thing I really dislike in many baked beef lasagna recipes I have tried is that the pasta gets too soggy. I am a stickler for al dente pasta; anything else would be just too much a horror for me to bear. You may feel differently about this, and if you do, this is the lasagna recipe for you, fellow curmudgeon!
For this lasagna I use minced beef --but minced pork is also very good-- and cremita cheese, a Dominican version of ricotta, only drier. I mixed the cremita with shredded mozzarella, and the lasagna is topped with parmesan.
This homemade lasagna is so good!! I bet everyone says that about theirs, but I mean it. It has three layers of lasagna noodles, meat sauce, ricotta and mozzarella cheese. A little trick is to start your first layer out heaviest on the ingredients and slowly decrease until you get to the top layer.
My family goes nuts over this homemade lasagna. It's been made the same way for years and years. This amazing dinner is three layers of lasagna noodles, meat sauce and cheeses. Feel free to double the recipe to eat one now and freeze another for later!
1. Preheat oven to 350.2. In a pan, saute garlic in Vegetable oil on medium heat for 2-3 minutes. Stir in basil, salt, a little pepper, and tomato sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Turn down to low and continue to simmer.3. In another pan, brown your beef and pork. Add browned meat to your sauce and continue to simmer.4. In a bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, cottage cheese and sour cream. Mix well. Set aside.5. In a 9×13 pan, spread 1 cup of your sauce on the bottom. Layer with lasagna noodles and spread another cup of sauce on top of the noodles.6. Add a layer of sliced mozzarella cheese and then half the sour cream mixture.7. Then add another layer of noodles, followed by a cup of sauce, another layer of sliced mozzarella and the rest of the sour cream mixture.8. Then add one more layer of noodles and the last of the sauce.9. Add Parmesan cheese to the top, cover with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes (taking foil off for the last 5 minutes of cooking).
This was a keeper. The only changes I made were to sub 1 lb ground turkey and 1 lb. italian sausage for the beef, and to add 1/2 tsp nutmeg to the bechamel. My husband hates ricotta cheese so I never make lasagna. He LOVED this.
The consistency of the meat sauce and white sauce is very important. I love when my lasagna is scoop-able, which means it is still saucy, you can also cut neat slices but then that is a bit dry and not as good as the scoop-able texture. so to nail the texture perfectly actually depends on the consistency of the beef sauce and the white sauce.
I think I must be part Italian! I love making (and eating) Italian dishes like Meatball Casserole and Garlic Chicken with Orzo but my all-time favorite has got to be this easy and delicious homemade meat lasagna.
This is a traditional lasagna recipe with tons of homemade sauce, copious amounts of cheese, and all of the meat you can throw at it. However, you can also cheat a little and use store-bought sauce if you want. No-boil noodles also work here, just make sure to add some extra water to the sauce.
What could be better than a tasty lasagna loaded with beef and cheese that you layer and then let cook slowly and completely hands-free? This is a perfect, easy slow cooker lasagna recipe that we guarantee your family will love.
Layers of meat sauce with onion, garlic, ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan make the most amazingly moist and delicious beef lasagna recipe ever. Layer it all in your slow cooker, set the time, and let it go to come home to an incredible dinner.
Slow cooker beef lasagna is an incredible make-ahead meal with so much flavor. It is one of our favorite easy ground beef recipes! The only thing that could possibly make this recipe any better would be pairing it with my instant pot meatballs and air fryer meatballs.
i dream about this lasagna! the first time i made it turned out to also be the first time i cooked my Italian boyfriend homemade sauce! this recipe was easy to follow and it surpassed any and all my expectations. will definitely be making this again. boyfriend approves :)
Amazing!! The homemade sauce is my favorite part. I accidentally bought fire-roasted crushed tomatoes instead of fire-roasted whole tomatoes but it seemed to work well and it was delicious. I also added frozen spinach to the cheese mix and a couple sauteed chopped zucchini as recommended. Very helpful explanations of all the ingredients and steps. This will be my go-to lasagna recipe! 2b1af7f3a8
