A professional thief was caught on camera as he sneaked through a theater’s front door.
The man tried to enter the venue in the 1600 block of Caroline Street through the theater’s side door, but was caught on camera.
Baltimore police are investigating the burglary, and have released a picture of the thief, who was wearing a light-colored jacket and a green baseball cap. The break-in was reported on Sunday, police said.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Baltimore police. The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for multiplexing data streams and, more particularly, to the use of cyclic redundancy codes (CRC) in such data streams.
An oft-recurring problem in the handling of data is the loss of data through a transmission or storage medium due to errors introduced during the transmission or storage. A typical example of such a loss is the loss of data transmitted by means of satellite links. In such systems, multiple user or subscriber data channels, each of which is typically represented as a digitally encoded data stream, are multiplexed and transmitted from an earth station to a satellite. Such satellite data channels are received by the satellite and retransmitted to the earth station. The satellite data channels are typically received at the earth station in the form of a data stream that is a sequence of digital data words, usually of fixed, predetermined length. Such data words are usually transmitted in blocks with the data words of each block being preceded by a cyclic redundancy check word (CRC) calculated for each block. The particular arrangement and contents of the CRC words depends on the data processing system used to implement the satellite link.
