The Linn 5 was used on the instrumental track of the Studio 54 hit, Disco Inferno, by over-the-top disco impresario Giorgio Moroder. It has a rather toned-down and subdued sound, but I find it rather fun here:
SR-505 is a little synth that was used in a song on the The Kids in the Hall dvd "Oliver Stone Presents An Alan Smithee Film", and also on that album's cover. And it's used here, on the road trip theme ("The Canteen Line", The Wurlytones), and as the intro to the Spinal Tap live performances:
This stereo image of the GB-46 is from the great 121 (1987-88). It's a remarkably clear sound, even in stereo. Also, in keeping with the grainy 'lost in space' theme of this magazine, the LFO mod is doubled up on the word 'LFO' in the alto sax part. This instrument has a very unique sound. I'm done, for now. That's the end of my musical notes about Electric Keys. All this week, I'll be looking at a more eclectic genre: synthpop. My reason is simple: "I'd rather highlight these interesting bands, than show you New Order or a typical new wave band." I didn't write Motu Electric Keys for anybody else. And the artistic integrity of Electric Keys demands a lot of enthusiasm, even for a model instrument like the CP-30. d2c66b5586
